First edition of the introduction as well as the bibliographical essay by Guillaume Apollinaire, one of 500 numbered copies on Arches paper, this copy not justified, the only printing after 5 copies on Japan. Contemporary half grey cloth Bradel bindings over marbled paper boards, spine with gilt floral motif (slightly sunned), double gilt fillets to foot, black sheep title-pieces, upper corners slightly bumped, the fragile parchment-effect covers preserved, two small snags to upper edges, top edge gilt. Handsome autograph inscription signed by Guillaume Apollinaire to his publisher P.V. Stock at head of endpaper of first volume. Paper lack to lower cover of second volume, the parchment-effect covers slightly wormed.
