The first edition of antique Rome was published in Strasbourg in 1549. Oporinus the editor went to call the collection Roma (1550) The antiquities of Rome which formed the second part (in the case of this copy). Each part has its own title page in the book Roma. It is possible that the parties were sometimes sold or circulated separately. a second edition of Antiquities was published in 1560 with a different collation (Basel). Brunet II, 1152. Fabricius (1516-1571) wrote several books on Roman (Roma, Basel 1551, a book about the tragedies of Seneca and another on Virgil), he was an influential scholar of his time, a teacher, and also the friend Agricola on which he wrote a book De re metallica.
