First edition of the French translation made on the fifth English edition. "Bradel" binding covered with handmade paper, decorated with smooth lightened spine double gilt top and bottom parts of title and volume number sheepskin hazelnut, two lower corners bumped, contemporary binding. A very pale wetting at the foot of the last two pages of the second volume, otherwise nice condition inside virtually free of foxing. Provenance: Library Anatole Cerfbeer who gave this copy to a family member named Lévistahl, whose bookplate on clearance of the first volume is readable.
