A superb and sober black morocco binding by Semet & Plumelle, spine in six compartments, gilt date at foot of spine, gilt roulettes to head- and tail-pieces, marbled pastedowns and endpapers, gilt dentelle frame inside covers, gilt fillet to edges of boards, all edges gilt, covers preserved, slipcase edged with morocco and with marbled paper boards, lined with brown felt
