First Edition. Rare. 3 editions published in 1807 in a Paris Nicolle 3 Vol. 12 in a second home in London Peltier, and this without publisher's name which is the true original. Rare. Absent the BN of France and the French catalogs. Most copies are held in England in 1807 but are not the original, referenced in Birmingham and Oxford, with a note: "First edition passes, quite wrongly, to a German infringement or other 'Lonchamp FC. The printed work of Madame Germaine de Staël. Paperback covered with a beige paper. Corinne is the story of a thwarted passion that confront conflicting laws of desire and society, but it is also a novel thought, foreshadowing Romanticism (the word is Madame de Staël), which will be admired by Chateaubriand, Stendhal and Benjamin Constant. Germaine de Stael has drawn much in his own life, his impressions and memories to write this story of a loving soul aesthetic, a strong woman, a victim of social constraints preventing affirm and exercise his personality and desires.
