Stories and facetious moralles, assembled and brought to light by JNDP with some tragic stories. Second edition, more enhanced by the author. Rare, is not found prior to publishing it to the BN of France or the British Library. vignette on title. Pages with red and black titles. On page 201 is a new page title "tragic stories of our time to Holland paper. By JNDP Third Edition. Leiden, ditto, 1669. "Half red calf wide corners early twentieth century. smooth back, as in long, double-net head and tail of spine. Date tail, double-net Cold boards. Nice copy. The book consists of 126 short stories, most pleasant and comical, often affecting the manners and gallantry. The second part contains 28 stories being passed in Holland paper with more creepy tales (stories of crimes, beheadings, thieves, dramas?). The stories are in a style reminiscent used by historians of the seventeenth, otherwise all stories are satire or criticism mores of the time (often ending with a moral short), and in this they are quite valuable for the information they provide countless life, morals and manners in the seventeenth and especially in Holland paper (but we see scroll across Europe). The first edition was given to the same address in 1663 III. Barbier, 844. Brunet III, 213.
