Marbled sheep Bradel binding by Loisellier-Le Douarin, spine with gilt cartouche and three mosaiced lozenges of red and beige morocco, date at foot of spine, covers with a frame of triple gilt fillets, marbled pastedowns and endpapers, all edges gilt, an elegant binding.
Rare autograph inscription from the author to (Adolphe) Nibelle, very slightly shaved.
This copy is additionally enhanced with three manuscript corrections by the author towards the end of the volume.
Further, a manuscript note signed by Nibelle has been mounted on guards at the beginning of the work, detailing the desirable collectible features of the book. Scattered foxing.
